Thaman springs a surprise: Walks out of Rebel

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,February 04 2012]

In what may be called a surprising news, Thaman has walked out of Rebel. The music direction will now be helmed by the director, Larencce, himself. Without elaborating on the reasons for falling out of the project on his own, Thaman only said on Twitter that he was now out and wished Larencce Raghava all the best. He thanked the director for giving him the opportunity to score music for a film like Kanchana, which was a big hit in Tamil and Telugu, and which gave a big boost to his career.

In his own words, this is what Thaman wrote on the micro-blogging site, My best wishes to music director Raghava Larencce Gaaru for REBEL I wish the entire team good luck. He added, And I thank Larencce master for giving me KANCHANA which was a very big hit in both the languages:) but I am officially out of REBEL.

Thaman's music would definitely have been a major asset, but for reasons best known to the filmmakers, he is out. Though this is not the first time that Rebel has thrown up surprising news (Anushka was suddenly declared out some months ago), a major change at this moment of time is a big surprise. The film is slated to be released in May.
