Adapted from the English show 'Big Brother', the most popular Tamil game show 'Bigg Boss' has successfully completed four seasons and the fifth season is marching towards the finale currently. Thamarai is one of the strongest contestants among the other housemates in this season.

Though Thamarai's game is appreciated by many, she is highly criticised by a set of netizens. In yesterday's episode, Bigg Boss announced a cooking task to the housemates sponsored by the 'Preethi Gas Stove'. The players were asked to cook 5 dishes with the provided ingredients in 40 minutes.

The contestants were split into red and blue teams. Abhinay, Akshara, Ciby and Thamarai were in the blue group and Pavni, Priyanka, Niroop and Aamir were in the red group. Sanjiv, Varun and Raju were appointed as the judges. Thamarai's team made 6 tasty dishes in the given time and won the task. The sponsor awarded the 4 blue team members including Thamarai with gas stoves.

Thamarai was super excited when the Bigg Boss announced the gas stoves for the blue team. She shouted in joy, Yayyy! A gas stove for my house. Thamarai, who originated from a penurious family in a rural area, earlier said that she haven't had any proper cooking facilities in her home. Some BB fans on social media are happy for Thamarai winning the gas stove.

On the other hand, a set of netizens are criticising Thamarai that she is over-exaggerating about not having a gas stove as an old photo of Thamarai clearly shows that she is having a gas stove in her kitchen. People are commenting that she is not being her real self and she is overacting to project a personality that wins the audience’s sympathy that paves way for the title win. The house and kitchen were shown several times in the intro video of Thamarai that was screened in Bigg Boss Tamil 5.
