Tharai Thappattai
'Tharai Thappattai' is maverick director Bala's seventh film. This film stars Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles. Illayaraja has teamed up with Bala for this film and this is the landmark 1000th film of the legendary composer. Chezhiyan who worked with Bala in 'Paradesi' is the cinematographer of this film too. The film has been produced by Bala's B Studios and Sasikumar's Company Productions.
Bala has taken yet another earthy script for this film. The film is touted to explore the lives of artists performing the traditional arts routed in Tamil Nadu. Sasikumar plays a Nadaswaram artists and Varalakshmi is a Karagattam dancer in the film. R.K.Suresh plays the lead villain. The supporting cast includes Bollywood filmmaker and actor Satish Kaushik, G.M.Kumar and others.
The music album of the film was released on December 25 2015. The album includes four songs and two theme musics and music lovers have generated positive reviews. The trailer that was release recently makes us a expect a hard-hitting film with Bala's trademark style. The film has received a A certificate from Censors due to violence and the makers did not want to cut them down to avoid the A certificate. This would be enough to guess the bold and realistic depictions in the film.
'Tharai Thappattai' will be hitting the screens on January 14, 2016 as a Pongal treat.
