Parineeti Chopra, it is known, was to be Mahesh Babu's pair in the AR Murugadoss film. The Bollywood damsel, it was said, was on board even before any such confirmation came from the concerned people. Days later, Rakul Preet Singh's name was said to have been finalized. As for Parineeti, it was said that she was dumped for Rakul due to remuneration issues.
Opening up about the whole affair, Parineeti just said that she was never signed up in the first place. She says that when Murugadoss approached her with the offer, she only kept the option open from her side. She neither gave the nod nor refused the offer. In the event, she couldn't sign on the dotted line because of being too busy with other films. It is at this time that Lady Luck became Rakul's.
So, there is no truth in the news that the producers of this Rs. 100 cr film were reluctant to pay what Parineeti had demanded. Any how, Parineeti's loss is Rakul's gain.
