The mercury tips higher in 'Veppam' this June 24

With a woman for a director people might be grossly wrong if they thought this upcoming venture 'Veppam' was all about love or anything womanly. The film takes you through the dirty lanes of North Chennai slums with cut-throat fights and some foul language.

Veppam is being produced by Photon Kathas and sees Karthick Kumar, Nani, Bindhu Madhavi and Nithya Menen. The music for the film is by Joshua Sridhar and the music album of this film was released by Suhasini, in the beginning of this year. Om Prakash has done the cinematography and editing has been handled by Anthony.

Directed by Anjana Ali Khan, Gautham Menon's assistant, the film has been lined up to hit theatres on June 24. 'Veppam' was shot at a very quick pace of just 46 days! Veppam is an anthological film drawing together a cluster of stories to a griping climax, suggest sources close to the film’s unit.

Looks like the women directors of Kollywood are doing a wonderful job at researching their subjects well. Last year we had ‘Dhrohi’ directed by Sudha release. This film dealt with the story of thugs!
