Renowned celebrities from B-Town attended the opening ceremony of the 17th Mumbai Academy on Moving Image (MAMI) Film Festival recently. Stars like Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and A.R.Rahman were present at the occasion. But promising guest Amitabh Bachchan could not make it on the grand opening.

According to sources, Amitabh Bachchan had to attend another event in the city. He had gone for a renowned brand launch on the same very day. So could not make it! But son Abhishek Bachchan took his father's place and filled his gap there. Festival director, Anupama Chopra stated that, "Amitabh Bachchan had always been very supportive for the fest and also encouraged us to do well. If he could not make it then he might be very busy and we understand."

Amitabh Bachchan had also shot a video for this festival, in support of it.
