Theri

Illayathalapathy Vijay's 59th film is 'Theri' directed by Atlee of `Raja Rani' fame and produced by Kalaipuli Thanu under the V Creations banner. Vijay plays a straightforward cop in the film, which has Samantha and Amy Jackson as the two heroines while legendary director Mahendran play the villains.

The stellar supporting cast includes Prabhu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Sunaina and Mottai Rajendran among others. Former heroine Meena's daughter Nainika makes her acting debut playing Vijay's daughter in the film.

Music is by G.V.Prakash Kumar while George C. Williams and Anthony L Ruben handle the camera and editing respectively. Muthuraj is the art director.

The first teaser of the film released last month it smashed the records created by previous Kollywood teasers and trailers in number of views and shares. `Theri' is the 50th film of music composer G.V.Prakash and he has given seven audio tracks for the film. The music album was released on March 20 amid huge expectations and the entire album has lived up to the expectations to say the least.

The trailer of the film was also released on the same day and it has got unanimous positive feedback. People are praising it as the best trailerfor a Vijay film in the recent times. From the trailer we could guess the outline of the story.

Vijay is Joseph Kuruvilla and he is the single parent of his daughter played by Nainika. Amy Jackson is Nainika's teacher. As Joseph Kuruvilla, Vijay is wearing a specs and sports a pony tail. He should have formerly been a Police officer Vijayakumar IPS a straight forward policeman.  Radhika Sarathkumar plays Vijay's mother and Samantha plays Mithra the lover of Vijay. Nainika is apparently the daughter of Vijay and Samantha in the film. From the trailer we could guess that the enemies kill Vijay;s family except his daughter which lead him to a life with a different identity to safeguard his daughter and avenge the enemies.

Vijay also has a third getup in the film which is the crew cut look and this character is spotted in the hilly locations of North India. We could safely assume that the director Atlee has packed some surprises with this getup/character.

These are our guesses about the story based on the trailer and we will have to wait till April 14 2016 to know how far these are true and what more the film has in store.
