Did Keerthy Suresh reject the offer to star with Vikram?

For the most few days a rumor that has been doing rounds that actress Keerthy Suresh refused to star in 'Garuda' as Vikram's pair citing age difference. The rumor was enough to peeve the fans of Cheeyan and also his admirers who have started abusing the promising young heroine in social media.
Sensing trouble, 'Garuda' director Thiru has come forward and gave a clarification in his official Twitter page. The 'Samar' director has categorically denied the rumor stating that Kajal Aggarwal was the first choice for the heroine role and she has been signed up and the team never approached the 'Rajini Murugan' girl for the role.
Hope this saves Keerthy from unjust and undesirable criticisms.
