Happy Birthday Prasanna

Today is the birthday of actor Prasanna.

Prasanna made his acting debut with the critically acclaimed film, 'Five Star' directed by Susi Ganesan. The film was produced by Madras Talkies and hence he can be called as a Mani Ratnam find. It has been 15 years since his entry into Tamil film industry and he has been holding his ground as a good actor who is liked by all sections and age groups of fans.

After 'Five Star', Prasanna acted in Radha Mohan's debut film 'Azhagiya Theeye'. In that film he played the role of a submissive Assitant Director and achieved a good name for his acting. Then came 'Kanda Naal Muthal' and in this film Prasanna played a smart and vivacious youngster who is at loggerheads with a girl with whom he falls in love after a particular stage. This film made Prasanna a bankable actor.

Then came director Mysskin's 'Anjathe' and Prasanna played a ruthless villain in this film. The film won enormous critical acclaim and became a trend setter. Prasanna proved his versatility as an actor who could play versatile characters.

Prasanna continued to act as lead hero in films like 'Naanayam', 'Achamundu Achamundu'. In the former he played a smart and clever Bank employee while he played a father of a sexually abused kid in the latter. In both these films his performance won critical acclaim. He again played a negative role in the psychological thriller 'Muran' and gave a brilliant performance.

In the recent years the dynamics and the audience perception about the characters have changed a lot. You need not be necessarily the lead protagonist or an antagonist to be the primary attraction in a film. Prasanna has been doing that successfully with the character roles he has played in the films 'Baana Kathadi', 'Pulivaal', 'Pa.Paandi', and 'Nibunan', He has played versatile character roles and in most of these films he is either one of the lead characters or a supporting character but his performance has never went unnoticed in any of these films.

Prasanna's upcoming films include 'Kalakoothu', 'Thiruttu Payale 2' directed by his mentor Susi Ganesan and 'Thupparivaalan' directed by Mysskin. He is also acting in a Telugu film 'Jawaan'.

We can be assured that Prasanna will reach bigger heights in his acting career with these films and he is here to stay for long as a versatile actor who can be cast as a charming hero. menacing villain and a powerful supporting actor.
