Director Venkat Prabhu had last given Chennai 600028 IInd Innings, which had his boys gang - Jai, Shiva, Vaibhav, Aravind Akash, Premgi starring, and after the success of the movie, he had completed his fun movie Party which has a huge star cast and is ready to release.

The director had been working on Maanadu starring Simbu in lead role, but the project had been getting delayed due to various factors, and recently it was said that Simbu will start shooting for the movie from January 20. Maanadu is produced by Suresh Kamatchi.

While it was said that Venkat Prabhu will also be directing a web series with Kajal Aggarwal, the director has tweeted a photo with Raghava Lawrence, and has said that more details on the project will be updated soon.
