Rahul Gandhi has slammed the Modi sarkar after it sought Rs 1,76,051 Cr from the RBI in terms of dividend and surplus transfer. The Congress leader and PM aspirant went to the extent of saying that the Centre is looting the central bank.

"The Prime Minister and the Finance Minister are clueless about how to solve their self created economic disaster. Stealing from RBI won’t work - it’s like stealing a band-aid from the dispensary and sticking it on a gunshot wound," RaGa tweeted out on Tuesday.

By "self-created economic disaster", RaGa seems to mean demonetization and "mismanagement" of the GST regime.

Meanwhile, several analysts have said that RBI's decision to transfer the money to the Government is timely and also fiscally recommended.
