A surprising tweet from a Chennai theatre owner has caught attention online after he thanked the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team following their dominant win over CSK in the IPL—and intriguingly credited filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and actor Kamal Haasan for the moment.

In the recent IPL match held in Chennai, CSK delivered a lackluster performance, managing only 103 runs. The KKR team chased down the target effortlessly in just 10 overs, handing CSK their third consecutive defeat at home—something that has left fans deeply disappointed.

Celebrating their victory, the KKR social media team posted a photo of Chennai's iconic Vetri Theatre with the caption "Victory," referencing their triumphant night.

Responding to the post, Rakesh Gowthaman, the owner of Vetri Theatre, tweeted:

“Wow, this was not on our list... We feel truly blessed.”
He went on to add, somewhat cryptically, that the real credit goes to “director Lokesh and Kamal Haasan.”

The remark appears to be a nod to the film Vikram, where several scenes were shot at Vetri Theatre. Fans are now playfully suggesting that the theatre’s association with the Vikram team has brought unexpected “victories” its way—even on the cricket field!

The light-hearted connection between cinema and cricket has sparked amusement across social media, blending fandoms in a uniquely Tamil-style celebration.
