Three for Friday

With number of films crashing one after the other in the first half of this year the rush of films has not decreased.

This Friday 27th June 2008 three Kannada films – 'Nee Tata Na Birla' starring trailblazer V.Ravichandran and Jaggesh (the sitting MLA of Karnataka state assembly), 'Meravanige' starring Prajwal Devaraj and newcomer a dentist Andrita Ray and 'Vasantha Kala' starring charming Haripriya and Nagkiran are hitting the silver screen.

The combination of V.Ravichandran and 200 plus comedy hero Jaggesh has not failed in the previous two occasions 'Gadibidi Ganda' and 'Ramakrishna'. Obviously it is high expectation from 'Nee Tata Na Birla' directed by successful director Nagendra Magadi Pandu. This is produced for the first time by Mother India Movie Tone Ravikumar and S.N.Dodde Gowda. There are five charming heroines – Jennifer Kotwal, Pooja Gandhi, Nikitha, Keerthi Chawla and Jyothi Rana. Urvashi is back after a long time in Kannada. Rangayana Raghu, Ram P.Dev, Sadhu Kokila, Doddanna, Kavitha, Mukyamantri Chandru are in the supporting roles. Ramesh Babu is the cameraman. Gurukiran has scored the music.

Director Mahesh Babu is expecting a hat trick from 'Meravanige'. The previous two films of Mahesh Babu 'Arasu and Akash' starring Puneeth Rajakumar have been super hits. Prajwal Devaraj needs a break as his earlier film 'Gange Bare Thunge Baare' was a disaster. A dentist Andrita Ray a model turned actress is making debut. Kantharaju of Kanakapura has invested huge amount on 'Meravanige' his independent production in Kannada. Manohar has scored the music.

Yet another debutant director testing his talent and luck this week is Srinivasa Vaddanahalli. He has written the story for his debut direction of 'Vasantha Kala'. This is a mother and son sentiment plus the usual love triangle. Krishna needs an urgent break as his two films in the past failed. He has introduced his son Sudhakar in this film starring Haripriya and Nagakiran. Manohar has scored the music. Veenus Murthy is the cameraman.
