A press meet for the upcoming Tamil film "Thug Life" was held today in Hyderabad as part of its promotional tour across various cities in India. The film’s team, including lead actor Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam, shared insights about the film and its journey during the event.
Kamal Haasan expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “This film has an incredible team. It doesn’t require so much promotion. I am not doubtful about this movie. I feel it might even surpass 'Nayakan'. This is based on what I’ve seen so far.”
Director Mani Ratnam reminisced about how he first met Kamal Haasan during the making of "Nayakan". He shared a story where a producer approached him with a CD for a remake. Mani, however, declined, stating he wasn’t suitable for remakes. He then met Kamal to tell him directly, which eventually led to the idea for "Nayakan". A similar process occurred with "Thug Life" — Kamal invited him one day to discuss a story, which led to the creation of this film, now ready for release.
The film is generating significant buzz due to the legendary collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, comparable to their earlier successful projects.
