The Ajith-starrer Thunivu and Vijay-starrer Varisu were released on January 11 and have opened to average reports. Though both the films have their own share of highs and flaws, the H Vinoth directorial and Vamshi Paidipally directorial opened to big numbers at the Tamil Nadu box office. The movies performed well at a few overseas locations and domestic territories like Kerala and Karnataka as well.

As Pongal is nearing the teams have released a new poster for this special occasion and the clash continues here too. The poster of varisu reals Pongal Winner while Vijay is seen sitting in a majestic pose while Thunivu's poster reads real winner.

The makers chose the interval block image from Thunivu to spice up the poster clash. Though both movies have garnered positive reviews it is yet to know which movie will become the Pongal winner this time.

It is also notable that the films of these superstars have already clashed 12 times to give the fans a nail-biting experience, the last movie that clashed in the box office was Veeram and Jilla.
