Titanic Hero Comments on Chennai Water Crisis…

It is not every day that a Hollywood star as big as Leonardo DiCaprio takes time to voice the struggles of a city in a third world country. DiCaprio in a long Instagram post has spoken about the water scarcity in Chennai. He mentioned: “Only rain can save Chennai from this situation.” Along with a photo of citizens drawing water from a well, the Titanic hero wrote: “A well completely empty, and a city without water. The southern Indian city of Chennai is in crisis, after the four main water reservoirs ran completely dry.”

DiCaprio also spoke about the difficulties caused to the public: “The acute water shortage has forced the city to scramble for urgent solutions and residents have to stand in line for hours to get water from government tanks. As the water levels depleted, hotels and restaurants started to shut down temporarily, and the air con was turned off in the city's metro.”

The actor is also an environmentalist and has a foundation that is ‘dedicated to the long-term health and wellbeing of all Earth’s inhabitants.’ Chennaiites are touched by the star speaking up for them and are expressing their love for the actor. Among them is also director Arunraja Kamaraj who shared the post on his Twitter account. It is definitely an appreciable action from the actor.
