Shocking: 3.47 crores seized from Government Bus!

A recent incident of the election flying squad seizing 3.47 crores cash which was left unnoticed in a government bus running between Thiruvannamalai and Harur has created ripples in the state. The Lok Sabha polling for Tamil Nadu is scheduled on April 18, and along with this, the bye elections for 18 constituencies will also be held.

After the announcement of the election dates, the Election commission of India had deployed flying squads all over the nation to monitor cash distribution for votes as well as illegal/ unaccounted cash movement by political parties in various means and modes. So far, these flying squads have captured money from various places.

Yesterday, flying squad was involved in routine vehicle scrutiny in Harur, and they happened to stop a government bus which was on its way to Harur from Thiruvannamalai. The officials had a shocker awaiting them, as they found 7 bags which did not belong to anyone in the bus, holding a whopping 3 crores 47 lakhs 51 thousand 110 rupees. It has been said that this money might have been a part of plan to distribute it to voters, and since cars and other vehicles are easily caught, government bus has been used. Police teams are now investigating and conducting enquiry with the bus driver Selvaraj.
