Corona effect - Aadhaar card mandatory in Tamil Nadu salons!

As a part of the relaxations in the extended lockdown's unlock features, salons and barber shops across the state were allowed to operate, and now the Tamil Nadu government has issued a number of rules to be followed by the salons and barber shops.

The shops have been mandated to maintain a register of the customers along with their Aadhaar number and names, phone numbers of the customers and Aadhaar numbers must be collected, as per a circular issued by the Commissioner of Revenue Administration J Radhakrishnan to District Collectors.

Some of the rules to operate salons, barber shops etc are: following service by appointment to maintain social distancing, only 50 percent seats occupied by customers with adequate space between them and a minimum waiting customers, no reuse of blades and safe disposal of blades used on one customer and disposal of hair, usage of disposable towels, usage of Sanitisers on hair straightening machine, curling machine, spa stones and heater, slimming equipment, face and hair steamers, face dryers, no usage of air conditioners, using Hypochlorite mixture or Lysol five times a day to sanitise chairs, handles, tables, handles, mirrors massage beds and water taps, giving paper napkins to employees to keep their hands clean and later disposing safely, usage of Sanitiser by workers in the salons, spas and wearing masks and gloves at all times, owners and workers of salons, parlours avoiding touching nose, mouth and eyes.
