Tollywood Roundup 2015 - Actresses

The success or failure of a film is not only attributed to the heroes, directors but also to the heroines. The year 2015 has made some little known faces prominent stars and overturned the fortunes of some others. With the clock ticking for the New Year, Indiaglitz brings you how our actresses fared in 2015.

Anushka

The reigning queen of Tollywood has three films to her credit. Both Baahubali: The Beginning and Rudhramadevi continued her triumph at the box office but Size Zero flopped miserably.

Samantha

The Chennai girl tasted a hit with S/O Satyamurthy and upset the audience with her Tamil films 10 Endrathukulla and Thanga Magan.

Rakul Preet Singh

The iron leg of 2014 has acted in Kick 2, Pandaga Chesko and Bruce Lee. Though Pandaka Chesko brought some smiles on her face, other projects left her in introspection mode, again.

Tamannah

Milk beauty Tamannah acted in Baahubali: The Beginning and Bengal Tiger. While Baahubali has rewritten the box office records, the success of Bengal Tiger proved that her accomplishment is not a blink of an eye.

Nithya Menon

This year, the Malayalam beauty had five releases out of which three are staraight films and the rest are dubbed ones. Her straight films S/O Satyamurthy, Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju and Rudhramadevi were highly successful at the box office. Her dubbed releases Ok Bangaram and Ganga too fared exceptionally well.

Regina Cassandra

Her second outing with Sai Dharam Tej has emerged as youthful hit and the actress is awaiting the audiences response for Soukhyam which is slated for December 24 release.

Kajal Aggarwal

She had a mixed bag of emotions this year as Temper has become a moderate hit but her dubbed film Jayasurya bombed miserably.

Lavanya Tripathi

This year has transformed Lavanya Tripathi as one of the promising actresses of Telugu cinema. Her film Bhale Bhale Magadivoy has raked in the moolah and cemented her place in the industry. Her upcoming films Soggade Chinni Nayana and Lachimideviki o Lekkundhi are riding on high expectations.

Rashi Khanna

The buxom beauty acted in films Jil, Shivam and Bengal Tiger. Except the Ravi Teja starrer, she had nothing much to rave about this year.

Tejaswi Madiwala

She started her career as a sidekick but her striking looks has transformed her a full-time actress. Tejaswi had five releases this year but she managed to please the audience only in Kerintha and Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju. She also sizzled in cameos in Pandaga Chesko and Srimanthudu. She is also waiting for the release of Jatha Kalise which is slated to hit the marquee on December 25.

Pragya Jaiswal

Her epic war drama Kanche opposite Varun Tej has won her rave reviews for her regal portrayal.

Hebah Patel

After tasting a hit with her debut film Ala Ela, Hebah Patel has turned out to be filmmakers' favourite - thanks to the success of Kumari 21F. She has some exciting films lined up for next year.

Shriya Saran

It's over a decade she made her acting debut in films but she still looks fresh and ravishing even at the age of 33. Except in Gopala Gopala, the actress has no releases this year. Though she played her part well as Venkatesh's wife, that didn't made her producer's initial choice.

Malavika Nair

The Malayali damsel made her inroads to Telugu film industry with Nani starrer Yevade Subramanyam. The film won critical acclaim and suffered poor run at the box office.

Trisha

The 32-year-old actress failed to leave an impression with films Lion and Cheekati Rajyam.

Charmi

She had two releases such as Jyothi Lakshmi and Mantra 2 this year. Both these films and her performances go unnoticed.
