The trailers for 'Tomorrowland' have only raised the expectations for the movie hitting screens worldwide come Friday on May 22. With hype at it's tipping point, director Brad Bird decided to drop the bomb earlier this month to reveal the news that his next would indeed be the sequel to the 2004 Walt Disney-Pixar blockbuster 'The Incredibles'.

The need for a sequel to the beloved superhero classic has been a hot topic for years now among fans. And, it's all about to come true now. As of now, the director's got his hands full as he's busy writing the screenplay. He makes it clear that he wants to make the sequel appear to be somewhat fresh and a cut from the rest of the superhero films that have invaded the screens in recent years. Not a while back, he said, "I don't think that kind of idea stays interesting for very long. ... For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that." One thing's for sure, it's going to be a challenge!

The 'Tomorrowland' director discussed the work involved in the sequel in an interview saying, "A lot of superhero films have been made since 'Incredibles' and it is kind of like an athletic field that's just kind of dried up dirt now, with a few clumps of grass. And I think what the challenge is how do you step outside of that and say, 'Hey, there's another place for our heroes to go.' So that's kind of the challenge. People make a lot of following some of road map and Damon and I can tell you from making this film that you're just bumping into furniture. Hopefully if you're on the right path you don't actually know where you're going completely. I love those characters in 'Incredibles', but I'm also a moviegoer and I want to be surprised by movies. I want them to zig when they should be zagging. That's the goal with that one."
