What to watch out for?

1

Kailasa

Undisputed with zero challenge to face, ‘Kailasa’ continuous to sit pretty at the top of the ladder. With no movement whatsoever from its well deserved throne, Kailash Kher lets the exclusivity factor work in his favor.

Let The Music Play

‘Mitwa’ [KANK] has now been added to this already popular compilation of 25 of the greatest hits over from the world of Bollywood, Indi-pop, Paki-pop, US-pop and UK pop in last one year. This makes it 26 chartbuster songs in this 2 CD album that is unshakable from its # 2 position since one can remember!

FRICTION 2–The Party Continues

In an age of dance mixes required at every pub/club/lounge, it is certainly not the problem of too much too quick for the DJs. Anyone from their clan would love to catch hold of as many songs in a single CD and ‘Friction 2’ provides just the same. No doubt it has been a never ending party since then.

Collaborations

This one is a surprise. With zero publicity and not much word being written about the album anywhere, it has still been doing exceedingly well through word of mouth. Audience has loved the authentic flavor of bhangra that has been brought alive yet again by Sukshinder Shinda, Gurdas Mann, Jazzy B, Abrar Ul Haq amongst others.

Lounge Safari 2

The album keeps jumping up every week and now the sequel to immensely successful ‘Lounge Safari’ has moved up a couple of spots to enter the Top-5 zone. The way it is progressing, it won’t surprise one at all if this compilation of tracks by artists like Abida Parveen, Karunesh, Abhijit Pohankar, Indian Ocean and Midival Punditz amongst other makes it to Top-3 soon!

VIBES III

Maintaining its slot in the middle of the charts, ‘Vibes III’ continues to register decent though not earth shattering sales. With ‘Lounge Safari 2’ going past it and ‘Dance Masti Forever’ set to rock the charts from next week on, it would be saddening to see this deserving album fall further down in the charts.

Asian Flava II

‘Asian Flava’ has been doing consistently well over last few weeks but for the first time ever has actually fallen down by a couple of spots. Limited publicity of the album means that it gained whatever it could from word of mouth and now it is on to the music company to help revive its glorious position towards the top of the charts.

Aap Ka Surroor

After ruling for 8 months, for the first time ever one feels that Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Aap Ka Surroor’ may just be in its last legs. Though it hasn’t moved from its # 8 position, a couple of good entrants [one sure shot being ‘Dance Masti Forever’] could jeopardize its expected golden jubilee run.

#1 Rock Stars

The album continues to hang on towards the bottom of the charts and the one to be blamed is the music company that has just not gone all out in flooding the album on the stands and creating awareness about its presence. The album has an endless list of chartbusters from across the border and certainly deserves a much better outing.

Best of DJ Suketu

Is it the MP3 factor that is creating a hindrance in the movement of this compilation that comprises of some of the best tracks remixed by DJ Suketu? Since MP3 are freely in circulation over the internet for download over all these months, one can only consider that to be the reason why the compilation hasn’t really made much of an impact at the stands!
