Writer-director BVS Ravi, on the face of it, is equipped with a formulaic story. But the difference is that the hero is not born gutsy. He seems to start off as a loser. Egged on by two motivational speakers (whatever Jayaprakash and Kota Srinivas Rao may be playing), he turns into a hero, a filmi hero at that.

In Prasanna (the Tamil actor who was recently seen as Vishal's sidekick in 'Detective'), Tollywood may just have found a super-cool villain. Whether he will outcompete Aadhi Pinishetty ('Sarrainodu') and Arvind Swamy ('Dhruva') is to be seen. The villain seems to be out to rock the boat all by himself.

The hero's attachment to his family is, of course, integral to the story, especially because he has to choose between his blood relations and the nation. A kid who seems to be over-smart, a family that eats together, so on and so forth, dot the trailer.

“Yudham modhalayyaka pakkodu poyada… Venakodu aagipoyaadaa… Mundodu kooli poyaadaa kaaduraa… Yudham gelichamaa ledaa annade mukhyam," so goes Sai Dharam Tej's punch line.

Justifying the title is the Indian Army backdrop and the fictional (?) Octopus missile system.

Is Mehreen just a glam doll? Are action sequences all unrealistic? One has to wait and watch.

SS Thaman, for one, can be trusted to have done a brilliant job with BGM.
