As we had reported earlier, the AIADMK General Council convened by Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and former CM O.Panneer Selvam has expelled the party's jailed General Secretary V.K.Sasikala which in effect nullifies the appointment of her nephew T.T.V.Dhinakaran as the party's deputy General Secretary.

Due to this, the supporters of Dhinakaran have started agitating across places in Tamil Nadu. Effigies of the CM and OPS have been burnt by Dhinakaran supporters in Adyar of Chennai and Tanjore.

Earlier today.some miscreants have set fire to the AIADMK office at Mannargudi. Since they had covered the CCTV cameras, the identity of the culprits could not be found.

When DMK's M.Karunanidhi and AIADMK's J.Jayalalitha were ruling the state as the CM, the effigy burning protest was controlled. The police would thwart such attempts and immediately arrest the protesters. Today the CM's effigy itself is burnt and this has shocked the people.
