UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The news was revealed by the PM himself on Friday afternoon (IST).

“Over the last 24 hours, I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this," the PM said.

He is one of the most famous personalities in the world to test positive for the virus. "This COVID-19 pandemic truly knows no bounds, no discrimination. Princes, paupers, world leaders, men, women, black, white and everyone in between," a social media influencer comments.

Both him and Prince Charles are reportedly experiencing only mild symptoms.
