'Manjummel Boys' is about a group of friends from Kerala visiting the famous 'Guna Cave', a place where Kamal Haasan's iconic film 'Gunaa', during their trip to Kodaikanal. Things take a drastic turn when one of them slips and gets trapped. The movie reveals whether the boys were able to rescue their friend. This story is based on a real incident that took place in 2006.
Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, the man behind 'Gunaa' himself, watched 'Manjummel Boys' in a special screening yesterday. He met the cast and crew of the movie yesterday and appreciated them. The film's director Chidambaram has already revealed that he is a big fan of Kamal Haasan. Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also met the makers and praised them. The photos and videos regarding the same are going viral.
The film opened to highly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The music, sound, visuals and editing were highly acclaimed while director Chidambaram's writing and craft were celebrated. The classic song, 'Kanmani Anbodu', from 'Gunaa' has been reused in this movie. The placement of the song garnered praise from all sides. 'Manjummel Boys' has collected more than 50 crores in the opening week.
