Bollywood actor Upen Patel, who made his Tamil debut with Shankar's I, has now shifted his focus to Telugu. The actor has been signed to play the antagonist in actor Aadi's forthcoming film Chuttalabbai. After considering several names, director Veerabhadram has zeroed in on Upen as the baddie in the film, says reports.

Produced by Venkat Talari, the film has Malayali actress Namitha Pramod as the leading lady. The shooting of the film is progressing at brisk pace in Hyderabad and the makers are planning to release it in February. SS Thaman has scored the music.

Veerabhadram's last film Bhai starring Nagarjuna was a colossal flop and the director took nearly two years to sign his next. The director is confident of bouncing back with a solid hit this time with Chuttalabbai.
