'Uppena': Outstanding box-office numbers stun analysts!

'Uppena', which hit the screens on February 12 (last Friday), is busy shaking up the box-office with its scintillating numbers. The collections on Day 3 (Sunday) were resounding all over, making analysts say that Mythri Movie Makers has delivered a landmark film for Tollywood to feel proud about.
The romantic-action drama clocked a worldwide share of Rs 26 Cr in three days. It is already a hit and distributors have started making profits from its blockbuster run. It goes without saying that the Vaisshnav Tej-Krithi Shetty-Vijay Sethupathi starrer is benefitting the most from the pre-covid occupancy levels that the AP and Telangana governments recently allowed in theatres.
A box-office tracker said that Prabhas' Mirchi' currently holds the all-time record among February releases. Among romantic movies, 'Fidaa' is the biggest earner. Will 'Uppena' outcompete these movies? Let's wait and watch.
There are speculations that 'Uppena', directed by newcomer Buchi Babu Sana, will cross the Rs 50 Cr mark in terms of share. Importantly, it is billed to pull off such a figure without a normal overseas release.
