Recently, reports surfaced claiming that Manikandan will act in 'Vada Chennai 2', with Vetrimaaran producing and Karthikeyan, his former assistant director, helming the project. These reports surprised many.

However, upon verification, sources clarified that there is currently no project titled 'Vada Chennai 2'. It was also confirmed that Manikandan will act in a film directed by Karthikeyan and produced by Vetrimaaran. However, this film is not a sequel to 'Vada Chennai'.
