Director Bala shared insights about his film 'Vanangaan' and his career during a press meet. 'Vanangaan,' starring Arun Vijay, received critical acclaim. Bala addressed several interesting questions from journalists, elaborating on various topics:

When asked about the violence and anger in the climaxes of his films, Bala mentioned it was something innate and not learned. On the protagonist holding idols of Vinayaka and Periyar, he clarified it was symbolic to connect the film's beginning and ending. Regarding the story's basis, he revealed it was inspired by a true incident in Chennai and explained his creative choice to portray the protagonist as deaf and mute, aiming for communication without dialogues.

To other questions, Bala clarified he doesn’t mock Christianity in his films and admires Sivaji Ganesan profoundly, which influences his works. When asked about directing stylish films, he joked about needing the right script to try such genres. On the Tamil cinema lacking Rs. 1000 crore blockbuster hits like Telugu and Hindi films, he cited insufficient business acumen as the reason.

Bala dismissed the notion that casting Surya instead of Arun Vijay would have made 'Vanangaan' more successful, emphasizing the current film is a hit. He clarified there’s no plan to work on 'Kutrapparamparai' and shed light on his consistent portrayal of differently-abled characters, explaining the need to highlight their world for inclusivity.

Responding to allegations about Vishal’s health issues during filming, Bala pointed out it wasn’t his fault and offered to provide medical documentation as proof. Lastly, when asked about honoring his mentor Balu Mahendra, Bala stated his respect remains intact, and steps like statues or naming streets should be government initiatives.
