The prestigious annual award given in the name of Varadappa, brother of Dr Rajakumar is taking place on 19th of February at 5.30 pm at Nayana Auditorium, Kannada Bhavana, Ravindra Kalakshera adjacent, Bengaluru.

The 12th annual award of Sri Varadappa goes to Smt Prathiba Narayana of theatre and veteran actor in big screen MS Umesh.

Smt Pratibha Narayan has staged over 12000 shows in the last 50 years of her career, MS Umesh is actor on stage small and big screen in the last six decades besides his writing skill as columnist.

Former union minister MV Rajashekharan do the honors, Smt Manjula Gururaj, playback singer and Sadha School of music founder is the chief guest.

Sri Varadappa award was instituted in 2007 by likeminded personalities such as Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa, Dr Jayamala, HK Govindappa, Doddahulluru Rukkoji, BN Subramanya, HN Gopalakrishna, Dr Vemgal Narayanaswamy, Revanna, DC Nagesh, Green House Vasu, Gudihalli Nagaraja, Muralidar Halappa, Suresh Urs, Channa, Dr Lakshminarayana and others.
