Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar had a successful 2018, as she had movies which gave her different roles, as she played villain in movies like Sarkar and Sandakozhi 2 and supporting role in Maari 2, besides also playing the female lead in Echarikkai Ithu Manithargal Nadamadum Idam.

The actress is now acting in a number of movies playing the solo female lead, such as Velvet Nagaram, Chasing, Danny besides few Telugu movies. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was recently seen on screen as a snake woman in the Jai starrer Neeyaa 2 and now her next release is ready.

Varalaxmi will be seen next as the female lead in the movie Kanni Raasi which will have her paired with Vemal and this movie releases on September 13. This movie is said to be a comedy entertainer and is directed by Muthukumaran who had recently made his debut with the comedy movie Dharmaprabhu starring Yogi Babu.
