Varsha Bollamma, who shot to fame with the direct-to-streamer release 'Middle Class Melodies' (2020), is playing an interesting role in her upcoming Telugu film, 'Stand Up Rahul'. Starring Raj Tarun as the hero, her look from the movie was unveiled today and it hints at an author-backed role for the 'Jaanu' and 'Choosi Choodangane' actress.

Varsha is playing an unfashionable character here. She seems to suffer from body dysmorphic disorder. Wearing specs and braces, the actress looks every bit unglamorous for a Telugu film heroine.

A rom-com, the film is being directed by Santo Mohan Veeranki. Touted to be a coming-of-age one, it is about how a reckless male lead goes on to take ownership of his life.

For the actress, who shone in the Ananda Deverakonda movie last year, 'Stand Up Rahul' offers an avenue to score another hit.

The film boasts of an ensemble cast, with yesteryear heroine Indraja and the versatile Murali Sharma playing two of the important roles. Vennela Kishore is gearing up to deliver laughs, much like the male lead. Devi Prasad, who was recently seen in 'Naandhi', has a key role. Sweekar Agasthi and Sreeraj Raveendra are taking care of music and cinematography, respectively.
