Varun Dhawan reveals how he prepped to play a werewolf in Bhediya

Popular filmstar Varun Dhawan is super busy these days with the marketing campaign of his soon to be released horror comedy 'Bhediya'. Also starring Kriti Sanon, Deepak Dobariyal and Abhishek Banerjee, the film will feature Varun in the role of a werewolf and in a recent promotional interview, the actor revealed that he was tempted to take up this project just by hearing one scene narration.

He told ETimes, "I was sold on his one-scene narration. The scene was — Bhaskar (Varun’s character) is sleeping. He has done something at night, and the doctor asks him, ‘Kal raat ko kya khaya tha?’ And Bhaskar says, ‘Prakash’. The doctor asks, ‘Kya?’ And he quickly responds saying, ‘Nahi, matlab kal raat ko Prakash ke saath khaana khaya tha.’ I was zapped. I knew that this film is going to be something new and wild and it would offer me an unbelievable character to play."

The trailer and posters of 'Bhediya' show Varun in a very ripped avatar which means the actor had to undergo a strict training routine to get ready for this part. Talking about the same, Varun said, "Physically, it was so tiring to play this character that I would return to my room beat at the end of the day. There is so much anguish and power needed to do certain scenes that it would exhaust me. I trained a lot for the role. For six months, I did animal flow workout and changed my diet… it was hard, but it became very enjoyable at the end of it. I wanted to crack this character and get it absolutely right because it is something so unbelievable — a man turning into a wolf — how do you convince people? So that was very tricky."

Directed by Amar Kaushik, 'Bhediya' is set to release on 25th of November.
