Young hero Varun Tej Konidela was involved in a serious accident while travelling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad when his car hit another car at Kottakota, Andhra Pradesh. Luckily there were no casualties and the star and those travelling safely returned home in another car. The driver is apparently in police custody.

Varun Tej the nephew of megastar Chiranjeevi has posted on his social media page "Got into a car accident and thankfully everybody is safe and sound. No injuries whatsoever. Thanks for the concern and your love!”. Varun is currently starring in 'Valmiki' the Telugu remake of 'Jagarthanda' in which he is playing the villain's role portrayed by Bobby Simha for which he got the National Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2015.
