One of the most iconic mystery franchises to captivate television audiences in the 1990s is making a comeback. Marmadesam, celebrated for its gripping blend of mystery, folklore, suspense, and supernatural elements, returns with a brand-new chapter titled Veerabhadruni Rahasyam – From the World of Marmadesam. The Telugu ZEE5 Original is set to premiere on June 26, 2026.
Set in the eerie village of Veerabhadrapuram, the series explores a world ruled by faith and fear. For generations, villagers have lived under the unquestioned authority of Veerabhadra Swamy, a deity believed to punish wrongdoers. Whenever the temple bell rings, another body is found near the shrine, and the deaths are accepted as divine justice. The village continues to follow age-old customs, including the chilling ritual of disposing of bodies on the cursed hill known as Gaddhala Gutta.
The story takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Vennela, played by Annie, a fearless and rational young woman from the city. When a young villager is murdered and the crime is attributed to divine intervention, Vennela refuses to accept superstition as the answer. Her quest for the truth challenges long-standing beliefs and puts her in direct conflict with those determined to protect the village’s secrets.
As the investigation unfolds, hidden layers of deception begin to emerge. The series delves into organized crime, exploitation masked as devotion, and a dark history buried beneath decades of fear. Through parallel timelines stretching back to the 1970s, the narrative reveals how greed, power, and manipulation helped create the myths that still control the village.
Directed by Bheemagani Sri Vardhan Reddy, the series stars Annie as Vennela, Raghu Kunche as Yoganandam, Raghu as Karthikeya, SI Ravi as Abhinav, Kamal Thumu as Dr. Nanda, Sireesha as Simhavalli, Anuradha as Nanchari, Balachandra as Gurunadhan, Kalki as Brahmam, and Harvin Reddy as Young Karthikeya.
Designed as a long-format mystery thriller spanning 60 episodes, Veerabhadruni Rahasyam – From the World of Marmadesam promises a gripping journey filled with secrets, conspiracies, and unexpected revelations.
