There are two Vijays to entertain us in 'Velayudham'. One is the Ilayathalapathy, songs from whose movies that have always made us happy. And the other is music composer Vijay Antony, a name to reckon within pulsating numbers as well as soft melodies.

The music album of 'Velayudham', which was just released at a gala function in Madurai, presents us a variety fare, however with the main target being the 'mass audience'. Here we present you a song-by-song look of 'Velayudham', a film directed by 'Jayam' M Raja and produced by Aascar Ravichandran.

Rathathin Rathamey Listen here
Singers: Haricharan, Madhumitha

The first line is inspired by a word often used by MG Ramachandran, a matinee idol turned Chief Minister. With Vijay too apparently having political ambitions, this song comes at an apt time, conveying a message or two to his fans. Understanding the demands of such numbers, Vijay Antony has showered it with mass ingredients. Voices of Haricharan and Madhumitha add more life.

Molachhu Moonu Listen here
Singers: Prasanna, Supriya Joshi

A folk style 'kuthu' number, 'Molachhu Moonu...' is going to be a treat on-screen, when Vijay shakes his legs to the fast beats of Vijay Antony. Off-screen too, it is a great one to listen to, thanks to Prasanna and Supriya Joshi. A typical Vijay-Vijay Antony song to make the youth tap their feet.

Chillax Listen here
Singers: Karthik, Charulatha Mani

Obviously targeted at the new-gen, 'Chillax...' has captured well the lingo and life of today's youngsters. Vijay Antoy bubbles with energy in this number with singers Karthik and Charulatha Mani providing good company to his composition. A foot tapping number, this one would strike an instant chord.

Maayam Seidhayo Listen here
Singer: Sangeetha Rajeshwaran

Accompanied by drums, guitar etc etc, Vijay Antony and Sangeetha Rajeshwaran present well the feelings of a young woman, who falls for a macho man. A stylish song, this one is a collage of western and Indian music. A must listen for women in love, and of course for their men too.

Sonna Puriyathu Listen here
Vijay Antony, Veera Shankar

Understandably the opening song of the Ilayathalapathy, this number sets a festival mood and forms a perfect prelude for the things to come. Crooned by the music composer himself, in the company of Veera Shankar, 'Sonna Puriyathu...' conveys the bond between Vijay and Tamil Nadu.

Vela...Vela  Listen here
Vijay Antony, Mark

Vijay Antony is at it crooning for this song again, this time by joining hands with Mark. Already a huge hit among fans, thanks to teasers and trailers on the web and the television, 'Vela... Vela...' is a mood-setting theme song for a larger-than-life hero film.

To sum it up, 'Velayudham' music is a food festival for the appetite of Vijay fans, who are craving for mass masala numbers from their hero...
