Vellore has witnessed it's first death due to the Coronavirus. With this death that happened in Vellore CMC hospital, the total number of deaths in Tamil Nadu has risen to 8.

A 45 year old person from Saidapettai, Vellore had been admitted in CMC hospital, after he had tested positive for Coronavirus. The person had been given intense treatment in the hospital, and was being monitored constantly, but passed away yesterday night.

Following the person's death, Saidapettai area where he resided has been sealed. With this person's death, the total number of people affected by the virus in Vellore has now reduced to 5. This person had no travel history nor did he travel to Delhi congregation and had been infected due to contact with affected person, as said by vellore collector.
