Actress Oviya had started her career with Kalavani released in 2010, and after gaining huge recognition and fan following with her participation in the first season of Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan's Bigg Boss game show, she had been flooded with offers.

Following the release of movies like 90 ML, Kanchana 3 and Ganesha Meendum Sandhipppom, Oviya's next release is going to be Kalavani 2, the sequel to her 2010 hit and this movie is also directed by Sarkunam who directed the original, and is produced by his Varman films.

Starring Vemal, Saranya Ponvannan, Ilavarasu and Ganja Karuppu, the movie was supposed to release last month, but had several legal issues. Now following the resolution achieved in all the issues, it has been announced that Kalavani 2 will be releasing worldwide on July 5.
