Venkat Prabhu is one of the leading directors today but he started his film career as a singer and then as an actor. Even after becoming busy as a director Venkat Prabhu obliges to the request of his friends and associates to act in their film.

Venkat Prabhu has acted in different roles and for the first time he will be seen wearing the Kakhi attire in the upcoming film 'Kalavu' directed by debutant Murali Karthik. Yes the 'Mankatha' director will be seen playing a cop in this film.

The director has said that this is a realistic cop in the film.

Karunakaran, Kalaiyarasan and Abirami play the lead role in 'Kalavu'.
