Versatile Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalitha

‘Queen’ and ‘Manikarnika’ actress Kangana Ranaut will essay the role of late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha in a biopic to be directed by AL Vijay.  Titled ‘Thalaivi’, the film has been co-written by K Vijayendra Prasad, the ‘Baahubali’ writer.

GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music.  Nirav Shah will be the cinematographer.  The rest of the cast and crew details are yet to be announced.

Early reports say that the movie will be shot in three languages (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi).

The prestigious project will be jointly produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri of ‘NTR’ biopic fame, and Shailesh R Singh of Karma Media.

There is another biopic on Jaya being made.  It stars Nithya Menen as the late AIADMK legend.
