Veteran actor Alleppey Latheef passed away

Veteran yesteryear film actor and theatre artiste Chungam Puthenpurakkal Latheef popularly known as Alleppey Latheef passed away. He was 85 and survived by wife Bheema and sons Hashim, Nizam and Shahir.
Latheef, who started his acting journey though theatre plays, entered the film industry through films produced by Kunchako's Udaya. Having acted in over 50 movies in Malayalam, the veteran is popular for his roles in movies such as Umma', 'Aaromalunni', 'Kadathanattu Makkam', 'Mamangam', 'Kannappanunni', 'Thacholi Ambu' and 'Theekadal'. After quitting the industry, he was engaged in antique sales at Valiyakulam in Alappuzha.
