Veteran Malayalam actor Sasi Kalinga passed away on Tuesday morning, April 7. The 59-year-old actor was undergoing treatment related to liver ailments for some time at a private hospital in Kozhikode.

Though known as Sasi Kalinga, his original name was V. Chandrakumar. He was a theatre artiste before he ventured into films. He had worked in over 250 films and 500 stage plays. Though his debut movie was Thakarachenda (1998), he rose to fame with his stellar acting skills in hit films like 'Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha', 'Pranchiyettan And The Saint', 'Amen', 'Vellimoonga' and many more. Sasi Kalinga was last seen in the comedy-drama 'Kuttymama', which released in 2019.
