Vetrimaaran one of the most celebrated filmmakers from Tamil cinema has his hands full with various projects. He has completed the shooting of his next two part film 'Viduthalai' which will release in the first and second half of 2023 respectively. Soori is playing the lead role in the film with Vijay Sethupathi in a very special appearance.

Meanwhile, more than a year back it was announced that Vetrimaaran is writing the screenplay and co-producing a film titled 'Adhigaaram' starring Raghava Lawrence in the lead role. Durai Senthil Kumar of 'Ethirneechal' and 'Kaaki Sattai' fame an erstwhile assistant of Vetrimaaran was set to direct.

News has now come that 'Adhigaaram' is dropped due to creative differences that arose. Durai Senthil Kumar has already moved on to direct Nayanthara's 81st film produced by Rowdy Pictures. Lawrence meanwhile is juggling a number of projects including 'Chandramukhi 2' , 'Rudhran' and an untitled film directed by K.S. Ravikumar that has his brother Elvin as the hero.

Now all eyes on Vetrimaaran's magnum opus 'Vaadivaasal' starring Suriya and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu which is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2023.
