Director Vetrimaran takes a very long time between his films. In almost ten years of his career he has directed only three films so far and all the three have been critically acclaimed super hits. The highly acclaimed director is presently busy directing the first part of his ambitious 'Vada Chennai' trilogy with Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles.

The shooting of the first film in the series has been almost completed but for 15 days of shoot as revealed by Dhanush in a press meet.

The latest development is that Vetrimaran is planning to foray into another film industry. If sources are to be believed, the National award winning director may direct a film with Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar who is fresh out of the success of 'Raajakumara'. The film is likely to be bankrolled by Rockline Venkatesh.

The project is on the cards and the official announcement can be expected anytime. But it is not clear whether Vetrimaran will direct the film with Puneeth after completing the first film of 'Vada Chennai' trilogy or all the three films which will take at least a year or two.
