Vidiyal

Sarath Kumar is one of the very few actors in Tamil cinema who have enjoyed the maximum box office hits in dual roles. After 'Nattamai', 'Suryavamasam' and 'Natpukkaga', he is at his favourite act again- this time for 'Vidiyal'.

The K S Selvaraj directed film, which has Sneha opposite Sarath for the first time, is jointly produced by Giriguja Films International Pvt Ltd and RRR Movies, a banner floated by Sarath.

Circles close to the actor say the movie spans a period from the pre-independent era to date. Sarath takes on two different roles in the film, while Shruthi Prakash, who made her debut with 'Indira Vizha', is the other heroine.

Shooting for the film started at Madurai's famous Thirumalai Naicker Mahal and a song, 'Adhi Madhura Ilaiyunda Yaanai...', with Yugabharathi's lyrics and Dheena's composition was canned on Sarath and Sneha there.

The lead pair bedecked in mythological robes and heavy jewellery sweated it out for the romantic number under arc lights with dance master Sivashankar playing hard taskmaster.

Says the director, "Set in the pre-independent era, the story shifts to the 1970s and moves onto 2010. The film revolves around the life of a freedom fighter. We are attempting something new in Vidiyal."
