Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, remembered for her best performances in 'Paa', 'Dirty Picture', and 'Kahaani', has been appointed by the Centre as a member of the Central Board of Film Certification. Vidya is bracing to give her best in the new role.
"I am very happy to join the CBFC and I hope to fulfil my responsibilities as a member to the best of my abilities. I look forward to this new and exciting phase where our cinema will be allowed to reflect the sensibilities, realities and complexities of the society we are living in today," she has said.
Prasoon Joshi has been appointed the new chief, replacing the controversial Pahlaj Nihalani. Our own Jeevitha Rajsekhar, actress Gautami, director Vivek Agnihotri, among others, have also been appointed as members.
