Following the degrading speech of veteran actor Radha Ravi against Nayanthara, the film fraternity has taken a stand and while several makers have decided to stop casting Radharavi in their movies, the Nadigar Sangam has cx condemned his act and DMK has suspended the actor from their party.

Actor Siddharth had however posted a series of tweets questioning the film industry's silence on Me Too issue and their selective support for Nayan, and also indirectly referred to Nayan's silence during Me too movement. Director Vignesh Shivn has come out with a strong response to Siddharth, mentioning that he's posting the note with due respect to Siddharth's opinion.

He had posted a note which read "Me too is a powerful and important movement across the world that rattled many industries mainly the entertainment industry. One's silence on social media does not mean that they are not supporting the issue. Nayanthara has always stood for the safety and welfare of women. She has openly endorsed importance of safe and comfortable work atmosphere for women in her movies too which has bigger reach than Twitter! She has extended her support morally and financially for many women and has also employed a few Me too victims in her movies in the real world but failed to broadcast it in social media due to obvious reasons. All this said, when we come up with an issue of a filthy remark so casually passed on a woman, instead of looking into the issue of concern, they choose to make petty accusations. It is saddening to see the way one is judged for her choice to be silent on "social media"!".
