Vignesh Shivan & Nayanthara’s film wins prestigious awards at International Film Festivals

Rowdy Pictures Pvt Ltd is a Tamil film production house owned by new-age director Vignesh Shivan and Lady Superstar Nayanthara. The production house has a set of distinctive films up its sleeve.

The talented director - Kollywood queen couple presents an experimental low-budget Tamil film Koozhangal(Pebbles) helmed by debutant P.S.Vinothkumar. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring music for Pebbles. Critics who watched were stunned on seeing it and said that it is the most genuine and hard-hitting reflection of poverty & patriarchy in rural roots of India.

Koozhangal is yet to have its release but the film has been selected and screened in numerous film festivals across the globe and won a handful of prestigious awards. It received raving critical acclaim from all the places it has been. It is said to be one of the best art-house films from India.

Pebbles was selected for the 50th International Film Festival of Rotterdam first and bagged the most eminent price of the festival, the Tiger Award. After it won the respected Tiger award, the film further made it to North America's New Directors New Films, Asia's Jeonju Film Festival, Indian Film Festival, 50th Kyiv Molodist Film Festival, China's Shanghai International Film Festival, London Indian Film Festival, Midnight Sun Film Festival.

Recently, The movie has been selected for one of the most important film festivals in the world, Italy's ShorTS International Film Festival. Koozhangal won the best film award there. National Syndicate of Italian Film Critics (SNCCI) Jury voted Koozhangal a.k.a. Pebbles as the 'Premio SNCCI - Best Feature Film' in the Shorts International Film Festival, Italy.

Transylvania Film Festival selected the film for screening last week. It might bag awards there too. The juries, filmmakers, and critics of the various film festivals stated that Koozhangal/Pebbles is a genuine product of Cinematic Realism.
