Vijay fans join DMK

Irked about their matinee idol’s decision to support the AIADMK-led alliance in the forthcoming Assembly elections, a section of Vijay fans have enrolled themselves in the ruling DMK.

“Twenty-seven fans of actor Vijay joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Krishnagiri,” a press release said. They have also offered their unconditional support to candidates of the DMK-led front.

Meanwhile, office bearers of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam have denied any rift in the organisation, saying that some persons who were sacked from the Iyakkam were behind the protest.

“The decision to support the AIADMK was taken after consulting members from districts all over Tamil Nadu. Vijay fans are only happy about working for the victory of the AIADMK,” the actor’s father and Makkal Iyakkam founder S A Chandrasekar said.
