After directing several superhit movies with his brother Jayam Ravi, director Mohan Raja directed the movie Velayudham starring Vijay, Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani. The movie was released on this day in 2011 on occasion of Diwali festival.

Today, on eve of its 9th anniversary of release, Mohan Raja has shared an emotional tweet, as he posted "One of the best thing to happen in my life.. getting @actorvijay as my Nanba n his fans as my well wishers #9YearsOfVelayudham @geneliad @vijayantony".

Further, heroine Genelia also tweeted about the movie and praised Vijay and Mohan Raja. Genelia's tweet read "Extremely special film...
